Testimonials
For
the last two years I have had the privilege of training with Nicole
Bosley-Smith. When I started, I was completely out of shape. I felt lousy and a
check up with my doctor indicated that I needed make changes in my life.
I
was 50 years old and didn't think I would be able to make the changes that I
wanted. Nicole thought otherwise. Through her expertise, encouragement,
prodding, pushing and her patience, I was able to make remarkable changes.
I
began to workout 3 to 4 times a week. I started
riding my bike again. Nicole gave me tips on how to improve my diet. The
results have been dramatic. My check up this year was great. My doctor told me
my health was terrific. My strength and endurance has steadily increased. This
past September I am proud that I was able to complete my first century ride on
my bike. (100 miles). The thought of being able to do that 2 years ago was
simply incomprehensible.
I
cannot thank Nicole enough for all the hard work she put into giving me the
tools to reach and surpass my health and fitness goals. She is absolutely the
BEST!

I
have happily been a member of The Arena Club for the past 5 years. Through the
ups and downs of being a competitive and now professional dancer, The Arena
Club has been there every step of the way. This past October, I broke my left
foot for the 4th time. Devastated that I could not go back on tour with
"Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance"—the dance company I had strived
my whole life to be part of – I entered a local Miss America Pageant to keep me
motivated through my recovery. Working with Agape and Susan Phipps on the
pilates reformer, I am happy to say my foot is fully healed and I was able to
compete and win my first pageant ever (current title, Miss Appalachia 2012!)
Now that I am in the running to be next Miss Maryland, I keep in shape with the
help of The Arena Club and their wonderful pilates
reformer
training!

Appalachia 2012
I
have been working with Nicole for two years and have lost weight and inches. I
am stronger than I have ever been. I look forward to my weekly training session
because I know she will greet me with enthusiasm and a different workout each
week. Her dedication and drive have pushed me to try new classes and get out of
the same weekly exercise box I was in. I have continued to improve and push
myself thanks to the efforts of Nicole. She continues to make a positive and
healthy impact on my life.

Some
Pointers on Selecting Gyms in Bel Air MD
You want to get in shape and remain in shape, but exactly
how do you pick the right gym for you within your locality?
There are lots of options, of course, from across the
country franchised fitness centers to in local neighborhood gyms. How do you
choose which center satisfies your demands best, no matter what your age,
athletic capabilities or fitness objectives?
The best way to decide is by visiting the centers and
talking with members. There are different physical fitness franchises with
areas all over the nation, which can be a good choice for people who travel.
You might exercise on your next office trip to Chicago or vacation to L.A.
Then there are smaller gyms, fitness centers and rec
centers, which provide a neighborly feeling. Costs are often a little lower
than the bigger places, but you may not find an open treadmill or bike if you
come at a hectic time.
So, how do you decide?
Think about a few of the most crucial factors, such as
where the center is found. A lot of people like to work out before or after
work. Is the center near your office? You may even be able to come by at lunch.
The center can also be close to home, which is easier on weekends. Just make
sure it's close to either your work or home, or else that long drive is likely
to deter you from working out.
How big is the facility? A really huge center will have
lots of equipment and staff, but its size can be overwhelming for some.
Smaller health clubs can offer a more intimate workout
environment and give you an opportunity to get to know the staff and members
personally.
Another important factor is cleanliness. No one wishes to
exercise on sweaty equipment or shower in a dirty restroom. Take a look around
and check to see to it it's clean. Ensure there is a locker and shower room, so
that you don't have to leave sweaty.
What kind of equipment does it have? What's vital to you?
Make sure the equipment is high-quality and appropriately kept. Is there a/c
and good ventilation?
Consider your personal needs. You may desire a more
strenuous workout facility if you are an athlete. Perhaps you just desire to
get into much better shape or lose weight if you are older. Are there trainers
to help you fulfill your personal goals? Do they offer health screening for
members, like body fat testing, cardiovascular testing, and strength and
flexibility testing? You want to get healthy, not get hurt.
Another thing to consider are fitness classes for all
ages. What kinds of classes do they offer, and do they interest you? Some
people like to do yoga or swimming, while others like something more intense
like weights and power training. Ensure exactly what they offer satisfies your
requirements.
Then there's the people aspect. Do you know people who go
there? Are you hoping to meet people there? Do you like the way staff interacts
with the clients? Is the staff well trained and do they help you get started?
The social aspect can be essential.
And there are also the extras that might really matter to
you, like a healthy juice or treat bar, massages, a sauna, a steam room, a
Jacuzzi, individual trainers, nutrition and weight control television, audio
and counseling hookups for the cardio room, or a pro shop that offers workout
wear and various other gear.
